1. Who we are
"Houston Green Maids," "we," "us," and "our" refer to In Houston Green Maids dba Houston Green Maids, A Texas Registered Corporation. "You" and "your" refer to the person or household requesting or receiving our cleaning services.
2. Accepting these terms
By booking, scheduling, or receiving a cleaning from Houston Green Maids — whether through our website, by phone, by text, or by email — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't book with us.
3. The services we provide
We provide residential cleaning services in the Houston area. Our standard offerings are:
- Recurring cleans — service every week, or every 2, 3, or 4 weeks, which always begins with a first-visit deep clean before transitioning to your recurring schedule.
- One-time deep cleans — for homes that haven't been cleaned in a while or need extra attention before or after an event.
- Move-in and move-out cleans — a top-to-bottom clean of an empty home, typically arranged around a closing or lease turnover.
Add-ons like inside-oven, inside-fridge, laundry, and windows are available on request and quoted separately.
4. Requesting, scheduling, and confirming service
To request service, use the form on our website, email hello@houstongreenmaid.com, or call (281) 402-6688 during phone hours (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm). We respond to every request within one business day with a proposed quote and available times.
A cleaning is not confirmed until we've agreed on a date and rate in writing (email or text is fine). You'll receive a reminder text the evening before every scheduled visit.
5. Cancellations, reschedules, and no-shows
Rescheduling
You can reschedule any visit at no charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Same-day reschedules are handled case by case — we'll do our best to fit you in later that week.
Cancellations
You can cancel a recurring plan any time, with no fee. If you cancel a booked one-time visit with less than 24 hours' notice, or if we arrive and are unable to enter or complete the clean through no fault of our own, we may charge a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the quoted rate to cover the lost time slot.
Our cancellations
If we ever have to cancel or push a visit — because of illness, staffing, or Houston weather — we'll notify you as soon as possible and reschedule at your convenience. No fees, ever, for cancellations we initiate.
6. Access to your home
You're responsible for making sure we can access your home at the scheduled time. Common options include leaving a lockbox code, being home, using a smart lock, or arranging with a doorman or neighbor. We'll treat any access method with discretion and never share codes or keys outside the two-person team.
If we can't reach you and can't enter the home during the scheduled window, we'll wait up to 20 minutes and then leave — a lockout counts as a same-day cancellation under Section 5.
7. Products, materials, and equipment
By default, we bring plant-based products (Method is our primary brand) along with vetted eco SKUs from mainstream suppliers such as Target and Walmart. Microfiber cloths are washed between homes. We use HEPA-filtered vacuums.
If you'd prefer we use a specific product you provide, or if you have a fragrance sensitivity, allergy, or preference, tell us in advance and we'll accommodate. Other products are available on request.
8. Pricing, quotes, and payment
Every home is priced individually based on size, condition, and any add-ons. Your quote is confirmed in writing before your first visit and remains valid as long as the home's condition and scope don't materially change.
Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed. We accept the payment methods listed on your invoice. If a payment method fails or a payment is more than 30 days late, we may pause service until the balance is resolved.
9. Our satisfaction guarantee
If something isn't right, text or email us within 48 hours of the clean and we'll come back and re-clean the affected area at no charge. We'd rather fix it than argue about it.
10. Damage, breakage, and loss
Houston Green Maids carries commercial general liability insurance and is bonded. Accidents are rare but they happen. If we damage or break something during a clean, tell us within 48 hours and include a photo if possible. We'll repair or replace the item at fair market value, up to the limits of our insurance policy.
We can't take responsibility for damage to items that were already broken, unstable, improperly mounted, or that we specifically asked not to clean or move. If you have irreplaceable or extremely fragile items, please point them out in advance and we'll leave them untouched.
11. Things we don't do
- Biohazard, mold, or hoarding cleanup
- Exterior windows above the ground floor
- Post-construction cleanup with active debris
- Moving heavy furniture (we clean around it)
- Pet waste, litter box scooping, or handling pet accidents
- Any task that puts our team at physical risk
If you're not sure whether a task is in scope, ask before the visit.
12. Non-solicitation of our team
Recruiting, hiring, or contracting directly with any member of our cleaning team outside of Houston Green Maids for a period of 12 months after their last work in your home is a breach of these Terms. If it happens, you agree to pay a placement fee of $2,500 per team member as liquidated damages. It's a small industry and finding trustworthy cleaners is why we exist — please respect that.
13. Photos and marketing
We sometimes photograph our own work — before-and-afters, product setups, results — for our website and social media. We never photograph identifiable people, mail, personal items, or anything that would identify your home. If you'd rather we not photograph anything in your home, just tell us and we'll skip it.
14. Communications from us
By providing your phone number or email, you agree to receive service-related messages from us — appointment reminders, scheduling confirmations, invoices, and quality follow-ups. We don't sell your contact info and we don't send marketing spam. You can opt out of reminder texts any time by replying STOP.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by Texas law, our total liability for any claim connected to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific cleaning that gave rise to the claim. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in this section limits any liability that can't be limited under law.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute that we can't resolve informally within 30 days must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Harris County, Texas, unless small-claims court in your county is available and appropriate. We ask you to reach out to us first — most issues can be sorted out with a phone call or a re-clean.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of the page and, for material changes, we'll notify recurring clients by email or text. Continuing to use our services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
